Prizes & Medals

He has already been awarded 25 prized, gold medals, certificates of appreciation and a diploma of honor from   both the Syrian Prime Minister and the Minister of Culture as well as from several Arab and foreign countries since 1958 , which are as follows:

     *       Medal  of Alexandria International Biennial, Egypt, 1958.

*       B.A. in fine arts, Academy of Fine Arts- Drawing Department, Cairo, 1962.

*       The Third Prize in the competition of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mural painting. 1965.

*       Medal of Appreciation from the Management of the World Festival of Peace and Friendship. Berlin 1973.

*       Diploma in Graphic Designing, Warsaw, Poland, 1976.

*       Certificate of appreciation by the General Secretariat of the Arab Plastic Artists Union/Kazem Haider.1977.

*       Diploma of the academy of Fine Arts, Havana, Cuba, 1978.

*       Diploma of Hon our by the Technical Institute of Fine Arts, Budapest, 1979.

*       Medal of Appreciation by the Management of Leningrad Museum, 1979.

*       Certificate of appreciation by Hartenstein Institute ,     Berlin,1980.

*       Medal of appreciation by the Govern orate of the city of Selvish  , Potugal, 1981.

*       Medal  by the National Council of Peace and Friendship, Lisbon, Portugal, 1981.

*       Gold Medal by the Governor of the city of Jeddah, Engineer Saeed Al-Farisi, Saudi Arabia, 1983.

*       Certificate   of appreciation by the Syndicate of Artists for his role in the foundation of the Syrian TV, 1985.

*       Certificate of appreciation by the Syrian Prime Minister, 1988.

*       Certificate of appreciation by Damascus Governorate, 1995.

*       Medal  of Paris by the Mayor of Paris, 1995.

*       Medal by the Director of El-prado Museum, Madrid, 1995, together with the acquisition of one of his paintings by the Museum.

*       Medal of the twin city of Granada, 1995.

*       Certificate of   appreciation and medal of the ancient city by the Mayor of the city of Stockholm, Sweden, 1996.  

*  Certificate of   appreciation and acquisition of one of his paintings by the Museum of Copenhagen, Denmark, 1996.

*       Ph.D  degree in Art Science from the Royal academy in London, 1996.

*       Certificate of appreciation by the syndicate of Fine Arts , Damascus Branch, for being awarded the degree of ph.D in Art Science, 1996.

*       Prize of   Vincent Van Gogh, Holland, 1997.

*       Certificate of Appreciation by the Syrian   Minister of Culture in recognition of his role in the artistic movement in Syria, 1997.

*  The League of Arab States honored him in Cairo, March 2001.

 *   The Ministry of Culture granted him the Armor of Appreciation and Gratitude for his activities in the field of children's arts, 01/08/2001.

International Field: UNESCO: united Nationseducational, scientific and cultural organization .      Dr.Ghazi Al-Khaldi, son of Hashem, born in 1935, is 2003 Artist for the Middle East Region, from Damascus City, Syria under Decision by the Artists' Union of European Union Countries No.497 dated 25/11/2003. *The League of Arab States honored him in Cairo, March 2001.
